How to Determine the Right Necklace or Chain Length
The image shows how necklace lengths from 14 to 22 inches may sit on a 12.6-inch (32 cm) neck.
To find your starting point, measure snugly around the base of your neck with a soft measuring tape. If you do not have one, wrap a piece of string around your neck, mark where the ends meet, then measure the string with a ruler.
Compare your neck measurement with the image and choose where you would like the necklace to fall. Add about 1–2 inches (2.5–5 cm) for a close fit, or choose a longer length for a lower drop. Placement may vary depending on neck size, body shape, pendant weight, and chain style.
